Title: Inter Club Council (ICC) Co-Chairs

As a student with diverse interests, I have always been involved in various academic and extracurricular activities. My passion for leadership, planning, and event management has led me to take on various roles in student committees, clubs, and organizations. With my invaluable experience, I am ultimately qualified to fulfill the duties of an ICC co-chair and bring our students a more diverse and welcoming environment in the future.

First off, and possibly above everything, I am a life-long learner and am a fan of all things theoretical and academic. Ever since I was a child, I read books in all different fields of academia, including philosophy, psychology, and sociology, my favorites being those of the 18th and 19th-century philosophers Kant and Nietzsche, and the psychologists Freud and Lacan. Many professors have spent long hours in their offices, privately discussing lectures and academic theory with me. Needless to say, I have excelled academically. I have consistently kept my grades at the top of the class and am currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science. My short-term academic goals are to expand my knowledge in marketing, finance, and business administration. Long-term, I aspire to transfer to UC Berkeley, a prestigious university known for its academic excellence, diverse student body, and dedication to issues of social justice.

Moreover, I have always been interested in community service and social issues.
As a volunteer, I have taught underprivileged students at an after-school program, and I hope to continue this dedicated and heart-felt involvement in community service as a way to give back to society and make a positive impact on people's lives. Helping out those in need helps me as much spiritually as it does them socially.

Lastly, my experience in student leadership itself will lend itself to my success in a leadership position next year. I have helped others start their club, the sociology club under advisor Professor Susana. My running-mate Echo was the secretary of the C.S.S.A. Mt.Sac department. During this spring semester of 2023, I feel proud to have the chance to contribute to the student body as a senator in the student government. I am currently participating in the planning and coordinating of various activities for the rest of the semester, such as the scavenger hunt that will be held in May. I find myself consistently inspired and influenced by the energy and outlook of the Associated Students, a group of hard-working and genuine people who are dedicated to bettering the society at Mt.Sac and who have influenced the student body at large in a meaningful and positive way. This culture of community and acceptance is why I am running for the ICC co-chair for the upcoming semester: there is nothing I would rather do than help the students here at Mt.Sac and work around these altruistic, brilliant people.

At the end of the day, though I’m just a student like everyone else, my dedication and passion for leadership, planning, and community service make me a stand-out candidate for the position of ICC co-chair. I am confident that my academic and social abilities, alongside my volunteer and leadership experience, make me an excellent choice for the chair position, and I look forward to contributing my well-honed skills to make a positive impact on the student community and the Walnut community as a whole.
